Account Manager - Toronto Office

The Account Manager role sits within the Operations function at Filament AI and will be based in our Toronto office. The Account Manager plays a crucial role in our mission to enable applied artificial intelligence by building long-term and profitable client relationships. The account manager will be responsible for owning a portfolio of client relationships, and connecting with key business executives and stakeholders. Additionally, the role will be responsible for negotiating contracts and closing agreements. The account manager plays a pivotal role in the profitability of the business by ensuring the timely and successful delivery of solutions according to customer needs.

As an Account Manager, you’ll work on:

  • Developing a strong understanding of the Filament AI offering (services plus platform) to establish yourself as an expert.
  • Owning a portfolio of client relationships, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders.
  • Establishing positive and trusting working relationships with all clients and partners with internal cross-functional teams to deliver profitable solutions.
  • Negotiating contracts and closing agreements (writing Statements of Work, determining project financials).
  • Achieving repeat business with existing clients and accounts.
  • Clearly communicating the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serving as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters.
  • Preparing reports on account status, making sure they’re receiving services that are within their budget and meeting their needs.
  • Forecasting and tracking key account metrics (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
  • Collaborating with the sales team to identify and grow opportunities within a territory.
  • Working with sales and other internal teams to develop strategic marketing plans and ensure KPIs are being met


  • 3 – 5 years of experience independently managing clients and accounts within a client management, management consulting, or similar role.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead technical discussions with a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Analytical problem-solving, organizational and management skills.
  • Ability to take ownership and work in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Understanding of common analysis, presentation, and project management tools (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Jira).


  • Experience at a startup, a small company, or in a fast-paced environment is preferred.
  • Experience working within AI is a plus.
